Cacophonous Music meet an effluvium of Little Debbie snack cakes in a cramped studio where pen, ink, oils, acrylic paint and watercolors unite nature, culture, and technology. As a BFA student in Visual Communications at Syracuse University, Yucha studied fine arts specializing in illustration, painting and photography. He was deeply impacted by the nuances of landscapes and cultural scenes while studying in Florence, Italy and travelling abroad.
Aside from his professional experience as an illustrator and graphic designer in the creative industry, Yucha has always been drawn to the macabre side of life. Drawing inspiration from album artwork and artists like John Thompson, Ed Repka, Arik Roper, Pushead, and Derek Riggs, he plays with consciousness by exploring perception and how it forms a complete life experience. His muse is the human condition.
The polarity of his work reflects the bipolar vision he experiences of society, never staying content with the same subject. Shifting between editorial illustrations, landscapes, and other styles, Yucha rarely remains satisfied in one arena of subject matter for too long. His use of metaphorical imagery and subject matter creates subtle and thought provoking illustrations that engage his audience to ask questions. The ephemeral nature of his presence yields singular pieces or series with vast context.
Yucha explores unseen terrain throughout nonexistent worlds, perpetually altering his methods and mediums to suit an ever-changing perspective that draws inspiration from external and internal sources. He currently resides in King of Prussia, PA where his exploration of the human condition through fine art and life experience continues.
